Benjamin Funeral Service, Nowata, OK (918)273-2700***George Grimmett Jr., 90, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Osage Nursing Center in Nowata, Oklahoma. He was born March 8, 1928 in Nowata, Oklahoma to George Grimmett Sr. and Orenthia (Martin) Grimmett. He attended and graduated from Lincoln School in Nowata. On February 2, 1954 he married the love of his life Frances (Mayhew) Grimmett, in Nowata, Oklahoma. George worked as an Orderly with the Jane Phillips Nowata Heath Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church on North Willow Street in Nowata. His lawn always looked immaculate just like a golf course. Above all He was a loving Husband, father, and grandpa and great grandpa. He held a special place in his heart for all his family. He loved watching his sons play sports and continued to support Nowata Ironmen until his death. He also was a dedicated Oklahoma State fan. George will be missed by all who knew him. George is survived by his three children, Felix Grimmett and wife Julie of Austin Texas, James Grimmett and wife Margaret of Coffeyville, Kansas, Lloyd Grimmett and wife Deirdre of Stillwater, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Ronald Edmond, Gaylen Grimmett, Andrea Walker, Branden Grimmett, Brooke Grimmett, Chris Grimmett, Brett Grimmett and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Frances Marie Grimmett and his parents George Grimmett Sr. and Orenthia (Martin) Grimmett; a daughter, Karen Grimmett. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Lincoln School Scholarship Fund.
