Georgia Mae Guffey passed away January 24, 2020 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma at the age of 83. She was born December 31, 1936 the daughter of Anderson Barnett and Virginia Mae “Hines” Barnett in Sperry, Oklahoma. Georgia was raised in Sperry and graduated from Sperry High School in the class of 1955. She started working as a CNA in the healthcare industry. Georgia married William Johnson, the father of her girls and they were married eighteen years and divorced. She married Claude Guffey in Carthage, Missouri on April 26, 1975 and they had thirty-six wonderful years together, he preceded her in 2011. Georgia moved to Spavinaw in 1982 where she lived the remainder of her life. She enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting, boating, dancing and her special dog.
Georgia was preceded by her parents, a sister Norma Lawley, a great-grandson Corbin Wicker, two Step- daughters Keri Edwards, Lori Guffey and daughter-in-law Rebecca Guffey.
Survivors include daughter Pamela Smith and husband Randy of Sand Springs, Rhonda Mouse of Grove, Carolyn Robinette of Sperry, Terri Hollis and husband Dave of Terlton, Jacqueline Evans and husband Rick of Spavinaw, Claude “Bud” Guffey and Lillie of Pryor, step-daughters Sheri Perry and husband Calvin of Bartlesville, LeAnn Lott of Alexander City, Alabama, one stepson Larry Guffey and wife Julie of Bartlesville, one sister Donna Menjivar of Turley and one brother Willard Barnett and wife Paulette of Broken Arrow. Georgia had twenty three grandchildren, forty four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and her dog bones.
Services will be at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home on January 27, 2020, 11:00 am with Pastor Ken Gerhart officiating. Burial is scheduled for at 3:00 pm at Oakhill Cemetery in Manford.
