Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma Harold J. McFarland was born June 28, 1935 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Ervin and Ethel McFarland. He died April 7, 2014 at the Hillcrest South Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended Alluwe School and married the love of his life, Darla York, on October 7, 1955, and they made their home in Nowata. They raised four children Sherri, Vicki, Shawn, and Jamie. Harold loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. Above all he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. They were the most important part of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Delaware, Oklahoma. He worked in the oilfields around the Nowata area, as a young man. He was employed at Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville, Kansas for 20 years, as a parts department lead man. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Darla of the home; his children and their spouses Sherri and Bud Callison of Nowata, Vicki and Will Hussey of Fulshear, Texas, Shawn and Cathy McFarland of Nowata, and Jamie McGee of Broken Arrow; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Ty, Chad, Chase, Lindsay, Stephanie, Kristie and Michael; and four great grandchildren Bubba, Sky, Dylan and Halo; and two great grandsons that he was looking forward to meeting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Ervin McFarland; and his sister Ella Wilson. Funeral services for Harold are 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Nowata with Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
