Marie Arning, 94, of Pompano Beach, Florida passed away on January 25, 2011, at her home in John Knox Village, Pompano Beach. Marie was born December 23, 1916, in Chelsea, Oklahoma, to James W. and Eva Lillie (Burt) Tilley. She was a lifetime resident of the Nowata/Chelsea area until moving to Florida in May of 2002. Marie was a lifetime member of the White Christian Church of Winganon until it's closing in 1984, then moved her membership to the First Christian Church, Chelsea. Church was her life, and she served as musical accompanist and in many other ways. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Arning in September, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Twylah and David Haun of Pompano Beach, Florida, her son, Terry and Sheryl Arning of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Vine & 7th St., Chelsea Ok. 74016. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Arning will be held at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata, Oklahoma, Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Services are entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service, of Nowata.
