Hayes Beck

Hayes Gordon Beck, 67, of Eucha, OK, passed away on Feb. 5, 2008 after bravely battling cancer. He was born September 13, 1940 in Crowder, OK to O.M. Beck Jr. and Virginia (King) Beck. He graduated from California's Tranquility Union High School in 1958 and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He married his wife Barbara in 1967 in Abingdon, Maryland. His adventurous spirit led him to pursue many career opportunities before retiring from the poultry industry in 2002. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing, and was an avid collector of knives and firearms. He was preceded in death by his parents, uncles Glyn, Joe, and Charlie Beck, Dale King, and a great-nephew, Damien. Hayes is survived by his wife Barbara, two daughters, Heather Sherwood and husband Keith of Jay, OK and Raina Mills and husband Joe of Carrollton, TX, one sister Jeannette Stanfield and husband Stan of Eucha, OK, several cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends. He will be especially missed by his grandchildren Chrissy and Keith John Sherwood and Landon Mills. The memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay with Pastor Josh Spires officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
