Hazel Weaver

October 11, 1936 — December 16, 2010

Hazel Marie Weaver, Jay resident, age 74, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Grove Integris Hospital. She was born October 11, 1936 in Summers, Arkansas to Oscar Lofton and Melvina (Neal) Lofton. Hazel met the love of her life Harold Weaver while attending Westville High School. She graduated high school on May 19, 1954 and married Harold the following day. Hazel and Harold moved to Kansas City in 1964 and then moved to the Jay area in 1974. Hazel worked as a store clerk and store owner for many years. She enjoyed fishing for crappie, bowling, cooking, especially baking, gardening and flowers. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Perry Lofton, Bill Lofton, and Malcolm Lofton; sister, Opal Alberty; great-nephew Robert Alberty. Hazel's greatest joy was her family and she leaves many loving memories with husband, Harold; sons Rick Weaver and wife Caroline, Stan Weaver and wife Debi; daughter, Carol Graham; sisters Ruby Walker and Lyda Kane; grandchildren Kasey Graham and wife Rochelle, Kelli Lynchard and husband Justin, Jillian Graham, Brittany Weaver, Brandon Weaver, Joe Moorhead and wife Jenny, Heather Compton and husband Tim; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews as well as many other loving relatives. Visitation will be 3:00PM - 5:00PM Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday December 20, 2010 at Mt. Hermon Church with Pastor Brandon McCombs officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, AR. Services are entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Jay.
