Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555, -- Imogene Nathlea Wiley Crane Miller, 97 year old Bernice resident, passed away late Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at her home. She was born on October 15, 1917 in Bartlett, Kansas the second daughter of Eva (Thompson) and Luther Wiley. Imogene attended and graduated from Bartlett High School. On April 11, 1936 she married Willard Crane at Bartlett, after his death, she later married Hershal Miller of Chetopa, Kansas in 1970. Imogene's first occupation was farming with her husband Willard. From 1955 to 1967, they were owner/operators of Slim's Resort on Grand Lake. Later she became the post mistress of the Bernice U. S. Post office for over 20 years. Even in retirement Imogene was always busy gardening and making quilts. Imogene was a member of the Bernice Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands Willard Crane and Hershal Miller, a son Jim Crane, a grandson Craig Crane, great-grandson, Clinton Crane, sons in-law, A. J. Driggars and Tom Logan; also preceding her were a brother, Milan Wiley, sisters, Nadine Barr, Marcella Braley and Wintress Stein. The family includes; a daughter, Phyllis Crane Driggars Logan of Afton; three sons, Leon Crane and wife Carolyn of Reed Springs, MO, Dean Crane and wife Barbara of Bernice, Lyle Crane and wife Ginger of Bernice; sisters, Darlene Thomas of Bartlesville, Luvonne Hucke of Mound Valley, KS; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Bernice Baptist Church, with Pastors, Dean Williams and R. J. Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at the McLaughlin Cemetery near Cleora. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
