James Powell

James Francis Powell, 58 year old Eucha resident, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. James was born in Missouri on March 31, 1955 to Dewey and Blanche Powell. On April 24, 1990 he was united in marriage to Josephine Lou Rickey. James was a very talented, kind hearted, remarkable man. He was very skilled in carpentry and could build anything from toys, to furniture, to houses. He was also a talented artist both in drawing and painting. He enjoyed reading poetry and western novels. James also enjoyed listening to music and was quite the singer. Among his talents he was also a good cook. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved picking wildflowers for his wife. James had a giving heart and loved helping others in any way he could. Survivors include his loving wife Josephine of the home, children: Tonya Powell and husband Andrew Franklin of Aton and son James Andrew Powell of Afton, grandchildren Manuel and Isabelle Franklin, and siblings: Pat, Steven, Cheryl, and Jane. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ernest Powell. The family will host memorial services at 23251 S Hwy 69, Afton, OK, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
