Grove, OK - James D. "Jimmy" Price, 40, was found dead Thursday, September 7, 2006 as the result of a single car accident on Oklahoma Highway 10, northeast of Grove, Oklahoma. Jimmy was born December 22, 1965 at Wichita, Kansas. He was adopted as an infant by Virgil Price and Frankie R. (Lane) Price. Jimmy married Melinda "Mindy" Jensen on December 28, 1985 at Dodge City, Kansas. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and was currently a member of the USAF Reserves. Jimmy spent four years stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Marquette County, Michigan. He later moved to Dodge City where he met and married Mindy. After four years at Dodge City, Jimmy moved to Pratt, Kansas for four years, where he worked for Pratt Medical Center. The Prices moved to Grove, nine years ago and Jimmy was employed by Freeman Hospital of Joplin, Missouri as a surgical first assistant. He was baptized six years ago at the Elk River Baptist Church and he enjoyed outdoor activities with his family, including fishing, boating and jet-skiing. Jimmy loved to build things, as he learned carpentry from his grandfather. He made sacrifices so that others could have and do. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mindy, of the home; father, Virgil Price of Greeley, Colorado; his mother, Frankie Price of Grove; his biological father, Danny Price of Pittsburg, Kansas; his maternal grandmother, Lorraine Lane of Grove; three daughters, Jennifer, Steffanie and Caitlin Price, all of the home; a brother, Gary Price of Greeley and by three biological sisters, as well as several foster brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2006 at First Christian Church in Grove with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Buzzard Cemetery, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. Military rites will be provided by the USAF Honor Guard from Tinker Air Force Base. A memorial fund to benefit the education of Jimmy's daughters has been established at First National Bank of Grove.
