James Edward Tully, long time Delaware area resident, passed away July 10, 2021, at the age of 86.

James was born on March 30, 1935, in Delaware, Oklahoma, Oklahoma the son of Bert Edward Tully and Bessie Elizabeth (Bowden) Tully. He attended and graduated from Childers High School. In 1967 James married the love of his life, Wilma Baker in Oologah, Oklahoma. He was an employed by Page Milk Company for many years operating the labeling machine. James went on to work as a custodian at Nowata Public School for over 20 years before retiring. He was a guy of many talents and was not afraid of getting his hands dirty. James was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed taking care of his farm. He was known as a hardworking man with a big heart who loved his family unconditionally. James will be missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert, and Elizabeth Tully; one son Daniel Tully and a sister Mary Maker.

Survivors include his wife Wilma Tully of the home; a daughter in law Phyllis; three grandchildren, Joshua Tully, Chandler Tully, Zackery Tully and one sister, Audrey Stanart.

Funeral services for James Tully will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the First Presbyterian Church in Nowata, OK, with Mr. Kevin Holdridge officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services in Nowata, Oklahoma.
