James "Jim" Jones

James (Jim) Wendell Jones, age 61, a resident of Delaware Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  He recently retired after working 35 years at the City of Tulsa in the street operations department.

Jim was born on August 31, 1960, in Harrisonville, MO to Kenneth Paul Jones and Marietta Lee (Robertson) May. The family relocated to Chelsea, Oklahoma when Jim’s mother remarried, Oscar Paul May, who raised and loved Jim as his own. Jim graduated from Chelsea High School in 1979.  Jim liked to fish, hunt, and talk with his friends.  He was a member of the Mount Olive church of Nowata Oklahoma.

Jim was survived by his mother, Marietta May of Chelsea, two sisters, Deborah (husband Dale) Boisselle of Davenport, Florida, Paula (husband Peter) Sisto of Houston Texas and two daughters Cynthia Yvonne Jones and Elaine Michelle (husband Doug) Ayers.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gavin Jones, Adrianna Jones, Nathanael Ketcher, Alexandria Ketcher, Abraham Simmers, Corbin Jones and Harper Ayers.  His nieces and nephews, Nicole (husband Eric) Zagone, Ryan Boisselle, Carmen Sisto and Ava Sisto.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Kenneth Paul Jones, his dad, Oscar Paul May, the mother of his children and former wife, Shari Lynn (Beagle) Jonley and his long time significant other, Debbie Thompson.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 369 RR 2, Nowata, Oklahoma. Private interment will take place in the family plot at the Nowata Cemetery at a future date. Memorials in Jim's name may be made to the Mount Olive Church Fund.
