December 20, 1968 — January 10, 2008

Jeanette (Jan) Laverne Hansen of Afton died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Grove Integris Hospital after a short illness. She was 39. Jan was born on December 20, 1968 in Los Angels, CA to Dale & Alice Todd. Her father preceded her in death in 2005. Jan spent the first 12 years of her life in California, she and her family moved to Washington for three years, then moved back to Bakersfield, California where she graduated high school in 1987. Jan moved to Oklahoma when she was 18 years old to live with her grandparents in Chickasaw. She received her CNA degree and had worked in nursing homes helping others. Jan has lived in Oklahoma City, Boley, Vinita, and Ketchum before residing to what was to be her home in Afton for a long, long time. Jan was a soft hearted, sweet person that had so much love for her family and friends. Jan was working hard striving to prove herself as an independent person by moving out on her own and being a homemaker. Jan enjoyed swimming, watching scary movies, spending time with her fiancée and roommates. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Alice and Roy Hansen of Kent, Washington; her twin sister Sandra Wilson of Bern, Idaho; an older sister, Jennie Conyne of Seattle, Washington; three brothers James Hansen of Washington, Daniel Hansen of Montana, and DeWayne Hansen of California; her fiancée, David Masquelier of Afton; dear friends and roommates Susie Harrison, Denise Mays, Carolin Gist, and Kathy Millard all of Afton; Mike, Tracy, Dillon, and Daley Wheatley, and a host of many other close friends that she has acquired while living throughout Oklahoma. Jan was a member of the Ketchum 7th Day Adventist Church. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 12, at 11:30am with Elder Tom White officiating. Another memorial service will be held on Monday, January 14, at 2:00pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Afton with Pastor David Holland officiating. A memorial tree on Jan's behalf will be planted in the front yard of her home along with a visiting bench to remember her by.
