Jeanne Sue Rodriguez, 66, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2022.
Jeanne was born on June 26, 1956, to Paul Slater and Jeanne Floreine (Mattingly) Ketcherside in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was raised in Nowata and graduated from Nowata public schools as Salutatorian of her class. After dating since the 8th grade, Jeanne married Roger Rodriguez on June 26, 1976, in Nowata by her father. They moved to Broken Arrow shortly after marriage and began their careers. The were blessed with two sons, Justin and Jerad. Roger and Jeanne were happily married for 46 years.
Jeanne worked as a dental assistant for 29 years, before she retired. Jeanne would get so excited in preparation for family gatherings, as she loved to give presents to her grandchildren. She loved preparing their stockings packed full of candy and other special gifts. Jeanne loved giving big gifts and was as excited as the kids to see the smiles on their faces! She liked to go on family trips to Branson and the Precious Moments Chapel and eat and shop at Cracker Barrel. She would never turn down a chance to watch OU sports. Justin and Jerad competed in many sports growing up and you would always find their biggest fan cheering them on, their momma. She loved her sons with all her heart and was always there for them. One of her favorite family traditions was the Delaware powwow that her two sons and family would camp out in cabins and attend the festivities. She loved watching her sons growing up with this tradition and took great pride as all the grandchildren begin to be a part of the opening ceremony. Jeanne’s greatest joy was her family, which will miss her greatly.
Jeanne is survived by her husband; Roger Rodriguez of Coweta, OK, her children; Justin Rodriguez and wife, Bethany of Claremore, OK and Jerad Rodriguez and wife, Rachelle of Broken Arrow, OK, her grandchildren; Xander Rodriguez, Ahriana Rodriguez, Drake Rodriguez of Claremore, OK, Allie Rodriguez, and Reese Rodriguez of Broken Arrow, OK, her sisters; Debbie Boatman and husband, Jim of Houston, TX and Sonya Essman of Topeka, KS, her brother; Paul “Butch” Ketcherside and wife, Suzie of Oklahoma City, OK, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members, along with numerous friends.
