Jefferson Campbell

July 17, 1932 — August 10, 2010

Jefferson Davis "Jeff" Campbell passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Claremore Veterans Center. Jeff Campbell was born July 17, 1932 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Carl Holmes Campbell and Stella Marie Stubbert-Campbell. On February 8, 1952 he married Evelyn Marie Parrish in Nowata, Oklahoma. Mr. Campbell enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1953 and served during the Korean Conflict until his discharge in January of 1955. After his military service, Mr. Campbell operated a refrigeration company for several years. In the late 60's Mr. and Mrs. Campbell started their own dairy farm and later in the 80's Mr. Campbell operated Jeff's Machine Shop. Mr. Campbell retired as a machinist after several years in the business. Mr. Campbell loved farming and country western dancing. He also loved trips to the stock yards and livestock auctions. Mr. Campbell was a regular at the Bliss where he was known to have consumed his fare share of beans and cornbread. He was a very caring man that went out of his way to care for others. Many things brought joy to his life, but perhaps the thing that brought him most enjoyment was spending family time with his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. Mr. Campbell is survived by two children, Kathy Marie Fitzwater and her husband John of Nowata and Carl Lee Campbell and his wife Debbie of Nowata; by three sisters, Rosalee Wilhoite of Ennis, Texas, Thelma McCutchen of Frisco, Texas, and Betty Beu of Childers; by four grandchildren, Katina Holland and her husband Dwayne, Becky Parrett and her husband Chance, Lacee Hayes and her husband Kyle, and Christopher Campbell and his wife Jennifer; and by six great-grandchildren, Matthew Holland, Chelcee Holland, Austin West, Gabby Parrett, Emilee Parrett, and Adasyn Hayes. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Evelyn in 1997 and by his second wife Florence in 2005.
