Jerry Lee Wattenbarger

Jerry Lee Wattenbarger, 82, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away on July 6, 2024, at his home, south of Nowata, surrounded by family.

He was born on September 7, 1941, in Nowata, OK, to Tony and Winifred Wattenbarger. Jerry graduated from Childers High School in 1959. On December 26, 1964, he married Elizabeth Stockton in Bartlesville, OK. They had 2 sons: Jerry Keith Wattenbarger and Adam Jerome Wattenbarger.

Jerry loved to raise cattle and ride horses, which he did all of his life. He enjoyed ranching and baling hay with his family. Jerry also enjoyed team roping. He and Betty traveled to ropings and barrel races with their horses: Wardog and Jackson. As a heeler, Jerry won many saddles and buckles.

Preceding Jerry in death are his parents: Tony and Winifred Wattenbarger and a sister: Sue Summers.

Survivors include his wife: Betty Wattenbarger; his brother: Larry Wattenbarger and wife, Judy of South Coffeyville, OK; his 2 sons: Keith Wattenbarger and wife, Dusty of Nowata, OK, and Adam Wattenbarger and wife, Kristi of Bartlesville, OK; his 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5-7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Jerry’s final care has been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service.
