Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222. Jimmy "Jim" Gene Hampton, 71, after a sudden illness, passed away on September 10, 2016 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jim was born on June 28, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was the son of Madeline (Runabout) and Thomas C. Hampton, Sr. Jim worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as an Employee Specialist in Oklahoma City, and in 2000 he worked as a truck driver for Blue Bell ice cream. Jim loved spending time with his family, playing horse shoes and basketball, and would look forward to family dinners. Jim was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Madeline Hampton, two brothers; Charles Hampton and Thomas Hampton, III, one sister Ella Jane Jones. He is survived by his wife Sally (Pickering) Hampton of the home, one daughter Christina M. Davis and her husband Brian Peek of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one brother Millard Hampton, Sr. of Claremore, Oklahoma, and many, many nieces and nephews. Jim was blessed with five grandchildren Brayden Hampton, Ethan Davis, James Davis, Ashlyn Peek and Collin Peek. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Piney Baptist Church in Jay, Oklahoma with Pastor Jess Jones officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in Piney Cemetery. Honoring Jim's life serving as casket bearers will be James Harjo, William Chewey, John Chewey, Nic Melko, Thomas Hampton and Elliot Pickering. Honorary casket bearers will be Francis Harjo and Brian Peek.
