Jimmy Wayne Hayward passed away August 10, 2019 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was born September 06, 1931 in Vinita, Oklahoma the son of William and Alice Jane (Vassar) Hayward. Jimmy was raised in Vinita where he graduated from Vinita High School in 1950. He joined the US Air Force in 1952 serving his country in the Korean War. While serving his country he married the love of his life Juanita “Micki” Lorene Hopkins on April 1, 1953. They were married for 66 years. He was a member of the Vinita Church of Christ where he was very active serving as a deacon. He worked for Coca-Cola bottling Company retiring after 40 years. Jimmy enjoyed sports and coaching his sons little League ball teams for 10 years. He never missed a game during their high school years. Jimmy was an avid Sooner, Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed working in the yard and on small engines with his great-grand son Denver. Jimmy’s top priority was spending time with his family and Church. The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice of Grove for their loving care.
Jimmy was preceded in death by, his parents, one son Steven Hayward, six brothers, Melvin, Bill, Chester, Clyde, Ted and Ray Hayward, two sisters Hazel Goins and Thelma Hayward.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Juanita “Micki” Lorene Hayward of the home Vinita, Oklahoma; daughter, Terri Hayward of Vinita; son, Jack Hayward of Vinita; one granddaughter, Crystal Wise of Vinita; three great grandchildren, Brittany and fiancé Gage Edwards of Owasso, OK, Bethany O’Neill and fiancé Austin Marcotte of Jenks, OK, and Denver O’Neill of Vinita.
Memorial services will be Saturday August 17, 2019, 5:00 pm at Church of Christ Vinita with Minister Bob Hampton Officiating.
