Jo Cornelius

ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, Bartlesville, OK - JoAnna Ione (Berger) Cornelius was born October 1, 1932 in Bancroft, Kansas to Joseph J. Berger and Iris I. Berger and died on October 31, 2015 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She attended first through third grade in Centralia, Kansas. Her family then moved to a farm south of Vermillion, Kansas, where JoAnna finished grade school and high school, graduating from high school in 1950. She was the homecoming queen. After graduation she was employed at Hallmark Greeting Card Corporation in Topeka, Kansas. She was later employed at Security Benefit Life Insurance Corporation. JoAnna worked at Highland Park Elementary School for many years. She later worked at Jane Phillips School with handicapped children. On July 26, 1953, JoAnna and Archie J. Cornelius were united in marriage at the First Methodist Church in Vermillion, Kansas. The couple had four children: Rebecca Anne (Cornelius) Smith and her husband, Jon, of Driftwood, Texas, Ronald E. Cornelius of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and his wife, Mila, of Dallas, Texas, Cheryl S. (Cornelius) Jones and her husband, Laurence, of Seven Points, Texas, and Joseph J. Cornelius of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jacob Rolls and his wife, Pooja Gehi, of Brooklyn, New York; Andy Rolls of Odessa, Texas; Mackenzie Smith of Brooklyn, New York; and Michaele Smith of Austin, Texas. JoAnna also had two great grandchildren: Bryson Rolls of Odessa, Texas and Chloe Rolls of Midland, Texas. JoAnna was preceded in death by her infant brother, Joseph J. Berger, both parents, Joseph and Iris Berger, her husband, Archie Cornelius and her son, Ron Cornelius. Memorials may be given to ARC Group Homes, P.O.
