Joann Martinez

Joann Sue Gant Martinez, a sixty-nine year old Grove resident passed away at her home on September 15, 2009. She was born on March 26, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Louis Clifton and Clemie Louise (Cox) Gant. Mrs. Martinez graduated from high school in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Joann worked for Northrop as a supervisor until her retirement in 1993. While working she played on a softball league, a bowling league and was a member of the American Legion. After retirement a move to Grove from California came. Joann joined a gym and made great accomplishments in walking. She had a great since of humor and loved sitting on the porch and going camping and was a very competitive card player. Joann is preceded in death by her father and her brother Gary Lee Gant. Survivors include her mother Clemie Louise Gant of Tulsa, two daughters Diana DiMartino of Grove and Kelli Walker of Fairland, a son Dennis Allen of Tulsa, a brother Don Lewis of Tulsa and two sisters Zona Gail Ely and Cindy Hunter both of Tulsa, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Viewing will be from 8 am until 8 pm at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 18, 2009. Funeral Services are Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove with Pastor Wayne Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Buzzard Cemetery under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
