John William Dias, 69 year old Grove resident, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020. John was born in Merced, CA on December 4, 1950 to Joseph and Janette (Schnider) Dias. In his lifetime, John worked at array of jobs. Growing up he was a dairy farmer. After high school graduation he served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He then held jobs as a logger, miner, and seismic surveyor. John had a big heart and a big personality. He was fun loving, adventurous, and always kept you on your toes. He was also very proud of his family and would anything for those he loved. He even had the heart of rescuing animals. He rescued his dog, Gypsie, and his cats Zip and Boo Boo. John also enjoyed riding his Harley’s. He proudly owned two, and like everything else, he had names for them: Pearl and Ol Yeller. John lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his daughter, Misty Dias and husband James Frazier of Grove, OK and son Elia Dias and wife Megan of Merced, CA, grandchildren: James Frazier, Jacob Frazier, Justin Frazier, and Gabriella Dias, great grandchildren: Maleigha Jeffries, Kamden Frazier, and Jacob Frazier, Jr., and two sisters: Janette “Sugar” Jeffries of Merced, CA and Janice Quario of Outwater, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Joey Dias and Jerry Dias.
