John Wilbur Dick 71, of Bartlesville, passed away November 16, 2020 at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born January 30, 1949 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Leon Campbell and Nettie Frances (Lemmons) Dick. John attended Nowata Schools and on August 19, 1968 he entered the Unites States Army. He served in Vietnam and was wounded in the battle of Hamburger Hill. John was discharged on August 18, 1971. John worked for many years as a diesel mechanic working on Bison Electric's vehicles. He also traveled with Bison to maintain their vehicles during hurricane relief. John married Rebecca Reed on September 2, 2010. They both are ordained ministers with the Paradise Full Gospel Church. Over the years John Built five different churches in Oklahoma. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He always put others first. John loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family very much. He had a special place in his heart for each and every one of them. They will have a lifetime of memories of John.
Preceding John Dick in death are his parents, Leon and Nettie Dick, and siblings, Charles Dick, Donald Dick, Paul Dick, Leona Dick, Margaret Smith, Nadine Dick, Ruth Hill, and Velma Harvey.
Survivors include, his wife Rebecca of the home; children Johnah Fine and husband Mike of Chicago, John Dick and wife April of Georgia, Crystal Tucker of Tulsa, Donald Joe Spray and wife Melva of Indiana, Francis Sue Hester of Midway, Oklahoma, Clint Bates and wife Stephanie, of Bartlesville, Robbie Bates of Bartlesville, Sherry Bates of Bartlesville; several grandchildren; siblings Lillian Crisp of Nowata, Joe Dick of South Coffeyville, many other relatives and host of friends.
A Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel in Nowata. Services for John Dick will be held 10 a.m., Friday November 20, 2020at the Wotova Full Gospel Church with Pastor Chuck Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
