Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.....918-786-2261......John Wesley Williams, passed away at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, OK on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the age of 87. John was born on April 22, 1927 in Zena, OK, the son of the late James F. Williams and Muriel (Walls) Williams. After John attended Zena schools, he went to work for the Oil and Gas Journal Company at age 16. At age 18, John joined the United States Army serving in the tail end of WWII. After John was honorably discharged, he returned to the Oil and Gas Journal Company where he worked for 33 years, retiring at age 49. After he retired, he bought the family farm in Zena, OK. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing poker, going to the casinos and dancing. He also enjoyed attending the monthly family birthday and holiday gatherings. John enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was very generous and loving towards his family. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Johnny Lee Williams; three sisters: Helen Tousey, Dorothy King, and Suzie Keller; and one brother Robert "Bob" Williams. He is survived by his daughter Ruth Ann Miller and husband Johnnie of Tulsa, OK; daughter-in-law Sharan Williams of Chelsea, OK; five grandchildren: Carl Dean Williams, Sean David Miller, James Wesley Williams, Jason David Miller, and Lora Luann Miller; nine great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; four brothers: Charlie Williams and wife Marylyn of Zena, OK, Lee Roy Williams and his wife Sue of Zena, OK, Gordan Wayne Williams of Zena, OK, and Jimmy Ray Williams of Chelsea, OK; two sisters: Sarah Jane Millspaugh and husband Melvin of Jay, OK, and Roberta Mitchell of Fulton, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at the Zena Baptist Church on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2PM with Pastor Chester Crittenden, presiding. The burial will follow at the Zena Cemetery in Zena, OK. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK. Casket bearers will be Carl Williams, Wes Williams, Sean Miller, Jason Miller, Charlie Williams, and Lee Williams.
