Johnnie Wiedower

Johnnie Ed Wiedower, 81 year old lifetime Vinita area resident, died December 25, 2010 at Rosewood Terrace in Vinita. He was born June 20, 1929 in Vinita, to John H. and Minnie C. (Zimmerman) Wiedower. Johnnie married LoveVanna Heater on August 30, 1950, in Vinita; She preceded him in death on July 11, 2007. He worked as a rural mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for many years, as well being a farmer-stockman. Johnnie was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Hash and Break Square Dance Club and was selected as Honorary Chapter Farmer by the Vinita FFA. Johnnie loved the farm life as well as watching Oklahoma Football and his family play sports. The family includes: his children, John M. "Butch" Wiedower and wife Donna of Broken Arrow, Bob Wiedower and wife Lynne of Tulsa, Lisa Miller and husband Lorin of Concordia, Kansas, Tina Dixon of Vinita; two sisters, Betty Rezac of Cool, California, Elizabeth Heater and husband Leroy of Shawnee; sister in-law, LaRaine Sherwood of Vinita; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two grandchildren, Mark and Ashley Wiedower, sisters, Emma Hayes, Helen Jackson, Teresa Hutchinson, Marie Calhoun, Lucille Keener and a brother Herman Wiedower. The Rosary will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Vinita, with Father Alex Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita. Casket Bearers will be: Chad Dixon, Justin McDaniel, John Steven Wiedower, Robert Clayton Wiedower, Steelin Nutter, Jessie Ferris, and Cody Broomhall.
