Joyce Baker

Joyce Irene (Wade) Baker left this world in the comfort of her own home January 7th, 2020 in Grove, Oklahoma; where she was surrounded by her husband, son and daughter.
Joyce was born April 12th, 1943 in Valentine, Nebraska to Joe and Irene Wade. She was the oldest of four siblings: Tell Wade, Cathy Zellner and Irene Klusman. She graduated high school in Custer, South Dakota. She then attended Rapid City School of Business where she received an associate's degree in business in 1962. Joyce married Richard Dean Baker on September 22, 1963 in Bridgeport, Nebraska. Joyce and Richard made their home in Omaha, Nebraska with their children Aaron Baker and Linda Shinkel.
Joyce worked at Hy-Vee for over 30 years as a butcher's assistant and enjoyed playing keno with her friends.
After retirement they moved to Grove, Oklahoma where she cherished her final years.
Her family, grandchildren and great granddaughters will miss her greatly, especially her stories, laughter and ham, cheese and butter sandwiches.
There will be no formal services held at this time. The family has chosen to hold a private celebration of life in honor of Joyce.
