Joyce (Wesson) Robinson, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. She was born in Lee Square, Oklahoma on June 9, 1934, to Idus Hoyt Wesson Sr. and Frona Dora (Jackson) Wesson. Joyce was one of ten children in the family. She attended Childers High School where she graduated with the class of 1952. Joyce started working for the telephone company right out of high school as an operator until marriage. On July 23, 1954, Joyce married the love of her life Howard Wayne “Cotton” Robinson in Bartlesville, OK and made their home in Nowata County, where they raised their family of five children. Later, after raising her family she started working at Jane Phillips Nowata Hospital for over thirteen years as a cook until retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church and the Lady Auxiliary. Joyce enjoyed cooking, quilting, and watching the birds outside. She was known to make the best chicken and noodles, fried pies, and basically everything that she cooked “tasted out of this world.” Joyce was a completely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She made sure her that the needs of her family were met. She loved spending time with her family and loved them unconditionally. That same unconditional loved poured out of her to each one of her children and grandchildren without limitation. Joyce’s family was her greatest accomplishment and her joy. Many people will be forever touched by the example she set with her kind words and actions. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Idus and Frona Wesson, husband Howard “Cotton” Robinson, one daughter; Debbie Covey, one grandson; Timothy Covey, one great grandson; Andru Moreland, eight siblings; Nettie Sprague, Floyce Standeford, Willie Wesson, Billie Wesson, Ellsworth "Punk" Wesson, Charles Wesson, Glen Wesson, and Leroy Wesson.

Survivors include four children; Steve Robinson and wife, Edwina of Childers, OK, Candy Robinson of Nowata, OK, Frona and husband Bud Potts of Big Cabin, OK, Charity Robinson of Denver CO, one sibling; Hoyt Wesson and wife, Juanita of Nowata, OK, fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, many other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Joyce Robinson will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2020, at the Benjamin Funeral Chapel in Nowata, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery in Childers, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
