Juanita Pearl Crawford 90, of Nowata passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Nowata. Juanita was born on March 16, 1918 in Webb City, Missouri to Harry and Blanche (Adkins) Samson. Juanita worked for Phillips Petroleum Company as an accounting clerk for 34 years before her retirement. She married John Crawford on September 5, 1975 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Juanita was an active member in the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Home Extension Club. She loved to read and in her younger years she was an avid gardener, wonderful seamstress, and enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. Juanita is survived by 1 daughter in law Sandra Adams of Olpe, Kansas, 2 daughters Margaret Case of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Pam Laney and her husband Truman of Wilson, Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren Shannon Persinger, Peggie Persinger, Angela Crawford, Lori Laney, Jeff Adams, Suzanna Gerlach, and Rebecca Charland, 17 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John Crawford, her parents Harry and Blanche Samson, 1 son Raymond Adams, 1 brother Charles Samson, 2 grandsons Steven Adams and Vance Adams, and 1 granddaughter Cynthia Laney. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday October 3, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Nowata with Rev. Todd Brock officiating. Final committal rites will be accorded Mrs. Crawford in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata. Visitation will be held at Benjamin Funeral Home on Thursday October 2, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in Juanita's name to the 1033 Ambulance Service 321 E. Cherokee, Nowata, OK 74048.
