Funeral services for Katherine King Vaughan are 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Katherine King Vaughan, 66, of Nowata, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at her home. She was born August 22, 1949 in Dumas, Texas to Forrest W. and Ruth I. (Cornett) King. She lived most of her life in Nowata and attended school in Alluwe. She married Johnnie Clyde Alspach in September 1966. Johnnie passed away in February 1977. She later married Giles C. Vaughan, Sr. on July 21, 1979. Katherine worked for several families as a housekeeper and worked at Nowata Nursing Center. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She also loved animals. Katherine is survived by her husband, Giles Vaughan of the home; her children, Steven D. Alspach and his wife Joy of Stillwater, Rebecca Lynn Alspach of Nowata, Kelly Vaughan Robinson of Nowata, Kimberly D. Vaughan Renfroe and her husband Mike of Delaware, Butch Vaughan and his wife Melodie of Nowata; grandchildren, Megan M. Alspach Haley, Mariah D. Alspach Gifford, Jeffery "Blake" Hallett, Brooke E. Hallett, Ashley Schonherr Parrett, Maranda Stanton Wright, Amanda M. Renfroe Camp, Greg Renfroe, Joshua Fisher, Dillon C. Vaughan, Amelia M. Vaughan; sisters, Zelma N. Evans, Marjorie King Alspach and her husband Daniel. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Ruth King; her husband, Johnnie Clyde Alspach; two sisters, Rosemary King and Barbara C. King Sutton; a son-in-law, Billy W. Robinson and three grandchildren. Katherine was expecting five great-grandchildren between June and October of this year. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
