Kenneth "Ken" W. Pickert, 79, a resident of Grove passed away at his home on January 20, 2011. He was born on September 11, 1931 in Richmond, Kansas to Fred and Hilda (Hermreck) Pickert. Mr. Pickert was a veteran of the United States army. He and his wife Sally (Gilstrap) married on August 29, 1955 in the "family parish" Saint Boniface Parish in Scipio, Kansas. The family lived in Lawrence Kansas from 1955 to 1977 in 1977 they moved to Wayne, Pennsylvania till 2005 when they moved to the Grove area. Mr. Pickert retired from Con Agra in 1991. Ken enjoyed playing Bridge Working on the computer and his Dog. Mr. Pickert was preceded in death by his Parents Fred and Hilda Pickert, his sister Elaine Kruse and Brother in law Harold Kruse and a son in Law Roger Wellman. Survivors include his wife of the home Sally Pickert, a son Michael Pickert and his wife Rita of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Diane Wellman of Saint Louis, Missouri, two brothers Gerald Pickert and his wife Carol of Richmond, Kansas, Leon Pickert and his wife Lynn of Lawrence, Kansas, two sisters Rosalie Waner and her husband Tom and Betty McArdle and her husband John both of Lawrence, Kansas, two grandchildren Jessica Wellman and Sam Wellman along with many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Father Alex Kennedy officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the Saint Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
