Keturah Tanquary

Keturah Love Tanquary, 87-year-old Bartlesville resident, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. Mrs. Tanquary was born February 27, 1922 in Carthage, Missouri to Charles LaFayette McNabb and Delia Abigail Blankenship-McNabb. She grew up and attended schools in Carthage and later went on to attend business school in Carthage as well. On June 12, 1949 she married Roy Shepard Tanquary in Carthage. Mrs. Tanquary retired from the Social Security Administration after working 30 years, mostly as a Claim Representative. Mrs. Tanquary grew up in the First United Methodist Church and later became a member of the First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. She loved her husband dearly and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also had a special place in her heart for her dear grandsons. Mrs. Tanquary was a lady who never spoke an unkind word and instilled spiritual values throughout her family. Mrs. Tanquary is survived by her husband, Roy Tanquary of the home in Bartlesville; by two children, Thomas Roy Tanquary and his wife Judy of Delaware and Rebecca Sue Hormann and her husband John of Skamania, Washington; by a sister, Charlotte Foster and her husband Gordon of El Cajon, California; by five grandchildren, Aaron Tanquary and his wife Tosha of West Monroe, Louisiana, David Tanquary and his wife Galen of Bartlesville, Drew Hormann of Portland, Oregon, Douglas Hormann of Skamania, Washington, and Michael Hormann of Skamania. Funeral services for Mrs. Tanquary will be held at 2:00pm on September 1 at the Delaware First Baptist Church with her son Rev. Tom Tanquary officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas. On-line condolences can be left for the family at www.honoringmemories.com.
