Benjamin Funeral Service - Nowata, Oklahoma Kevin Dale Smith, 59 year old Nowata resident passed away November 22, 2014. He was born May 9, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Everett K. and Martha (Deem) Smith. He was educated in Riverview Schools in St. Louis, Missouri and went on to Florissant Valley Community College. Kevin was a plant supervisor for Otis Spunkmeyer Inc., now known as Aryzta, for many years. Kevin loved coaching little league sports. He was a mentor to troubled youth and helped many of them get jobs and get a second chance in life. He spoke at school programs to help kids straighten out their lives. On December 29, 2009 he married Maria Del Socorro Santos in Bartlesville. They enjoyed traveling and loved to just go on the spur of the moment. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus and Cornerstone Community Church where he served and worked with the youth program. Kevin enjoyed watching old westerns on TV and was a huge St. Louis Cardinal Fan. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, and baking. He was loved by so many and will be missed. Kevin is survived by his mother, Martha Smith of St. Louis, MO; a daughter Ana Maria Perez and her fiancé Derek Alspach of Nowata; four sons, Ronald Davis of Nowata, Kent Smith and his fiancé Anna Cline of St. Louis, MO., Keith Smith of St. Louis, MO., Kris Smith and his fiancé Carrie Schneider of St. Louis, MO., and a sister, Karen Reed. He is preceded in death by his father Everett K. Smith; his wife, Maria Smith; a son, Leigh Martin (Davis) Smith, and a brother, David Smith. Funeral services for Kevin are 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Nowata High School Gym with Terry Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Relocated Cemetery.
