Funeral Services for Larry Gibson will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Emmanuel Temple Church in Vinita, Oklahoma, with Pastor Wade Markham officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata. Larry F. Gibson, 66, of Nowata, Oklahoma passed from this life on December 1, 2011 at ST. John's Medical Center in Tulsa. Larry was born on September 12, 1945 to Glenn and Thelma (Myers) Gibson. He lived in the Nowata area all his life and was a graduate of Delaware High School. He then went on to get his Bachelors Degree at Northwestern Sate University. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Larry married Dorothy Webb in Nowata on November 24, 1972. He was a cattle rancher, and owned his own accounting business. Larry enjoyed team roping and working on his ranch. He enjoyed western swing music and was a member of the Cowboy Junction Church of Vinita. Larry loved his family very much and he often donated to needy without anyone knowing what he did. He loved people and helping them brought him much happiness. He will be missed by all who knew him. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Thelma Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and a son, Clint. The family suggests that donations be given to Cowboy Junction Christian School or the Nowata City/County Library.
