Laurel Lea Miller, 83, passed away on July 31, 2022, at the Nowata Nursing Center.
Laurel was born on April 14, 1939, to Archie Melvin and Mary Alice (Robison) Leighty near Cabool, Missouri. Laurel met Charles Frederick Miller and the couple married in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on July 16, 1956. The couple first made their home in Dewey, Oklahoma. Then, they moved to Vinita, OK, for about 3 years, and finally moved back to Nowata in 1976, where the couple has resided since. Laurel was a loving homemaker, caring for her children and tending to her family and home.
Laurel was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Nowata.
Laurel was preceded in death by her parents: Arch and Mary Leighty; a daughter, Rhonda Jolene Miller; and three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
Laurel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Fredrick Lee “Bub” and Valisa Miller of Nowata, OK; her daughter and son-in-law, Lyle and Colleen Weimer of Mountain Home, AR; her grandson and spouse, Brandon and Kaitlynn Miller of Phenix City, AL; her great-grandson, Barrett Miller of Clarksville, TN; and her granddaughter, Alisha Weimer of Allen, TX.
