Lela Berry

Grove, OK - Lela Audry Berry, 93, died Sunday morning, October 7, 2007 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Lela was born June 19, 1914 at Welch, Oklahoma to Ira Coon "Jyp" Woodall and Grace Bell (Deitrick) Woodall. She grew and lived most of her life in the Craig County area. Lela married Buford V. Berry on October 31, 1928 at Oswego, Kansas. Mr. Berry preceded his wife in death March 9, 2001. While a homemaker most of her married life, Lela had worked for a short time at Arrow Cleaners of Vinita and Eastern State Hospital. She moved to Grove after the death of her husband. She was of the Baptist faith and was active in the Extension Homemakers Club. Survivors are four sons, Buford V. Berry, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona, Charles F. Berry of Battle Ground, Washington, Floyd R. Berry of Springdale, Arkansas and Ken Berry of Grove; one daughter, Frances Ann Haney of Jenks, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, "Jyppy" and Woodrow Woodall; and by two sisters, Juanita Phillips and Edith Hedworth. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita. Interment will be in Vinita's Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday.
