Leon Davenport

Leon "Cotton" Davenport, 72, of Grove, Oklahoma, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Grove Nursing Center. He was born June 14, 1935 at Kansas, Oklahoma to Alva N. Davenport and Bertha Rice Davenport. Leon was married to Mary Sue Davenport who preceded him in death on August 18, 1990. He worked for and retired from Rockwell International in the aviation industry. He was also preceded in death by Dean Davenport. Survivors include daughter Dena Michelle Davenport of Grove, Oklahoma, son Mike Davenport and wife Kim of Grove, grandsons Cory and Bryce Davenport, sisters Carlene Brown, Dorothy Rogers, Carol Deal, brothers Charles "Rabbit" Phillips. Funeral services for Leon "Cotton" Davenport will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Delaware Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma with Pastor Troy Hayes presiding. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held for 6 until 8 p.m. at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home on Monday, April 21, 2008.
