Lewis Calvin Miller passed away Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lewis was born on January 28, 1953 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Oce Calvin Miller Jr. and Della Rose Cooper Miller. He attended school in Lenapah and South Coffeyville and graduated from Wann High School in 1971. He then began a career in welding under the tutelage of his dad, Oce Jr. He worked for several years throughout the western United States as a welder and crane operator in the coal mining industry. He completed his welding career with John Deere in Coffeyville, Kansas where he retired. Lewis loved sports, especially baseball and softball. He was a great fan of country music as well but his favorite pastime was deer hunting. He hunted Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, and Oklahoma but the most special place of all was hunting the big, rolling, timbered hills of Kentucky with his friend Johnnie R. Travis. Lewis is survived by his wife, Jonnie Karen of the home; an uncle, Don Miller and wife Linda of rural Wann; stepchildren, Kristina Taylor of Nowata, Casey Camren of Independence, Kansas; six grandchildren, Lilly, Laray, Laney, Melanie, Casey Jr. and Bentley; one God daughter, Lacy N. Atkins, three biological children from a previous marriage and many cousins and friends. He will be truly missed.
