Linda Gayle Cope, 74, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Ascension St. John Jane Phillips in Bartlesville, OK. She was born on August 11, 1947, in Bartlesville, OK, to Oscar Edward Hindman and Juanita Pauline (Adams) Hindman. She grew up near Diamond Point School and graduated from Nowata Public Schools. Soon after graduation, Linda began a career at ConocoPhillips, where she worked until retirement. On November 24, 2002, Linda married her once in a lifetime love, Charles “Cole” Colin Cope in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Linda was a very special person that people were drawn to, and she never met a stranger. She told the most incredible stories. Linda enjoyed traveling and had visited several different countries including Mexico, Italy, and France. She also had traveled to most of the states in the U.S. and visited all the National Parks. Linda loved spending time with her family and friends. For special occasions and holidays, Linda would go all out, planning the party. Many times, she would plan skits for the family to practice and perform. Linda and her family would have the most enjoyable time doing this. She was always up for a garage sale and fireworks. Linda wanted her family and friends to celebrate her life with the song “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; Oscar and Juanita Hindman, her husband; Cole Cope, her five sisters; Kathryn Ann, Lucille, Roma, Helen, and Katzy, and her three brothers; Bill, Joe, and Jack.
Survivors include her daughter; Angie Hindman of Nowata, OK, her granddaughter; Lydia Ballard and husband, Micah of Bartlesville, OK, her sister; Louise Camren and husband, Virgil of South Coffeyville, OK, her three brothers; Terry Hindman of Nowata, OK, Tom Hindman of Oglesby, OK, and Jim Hindman of Oglesby, OK, her niece, Davene Mayhew, in which Linda was a second mom to, her very special group of friends; Margaret, Sue, Leah, Gay, and Marilyn, along with several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
