Lola Brown

Lola Bea (Heard) Brown, 81 year-old former Vinita resident, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born November 12, 1928 in White Oak to Harry and Elsie (Harvey) Heard. Lola was married to Jasper Brown on January 9, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death in 1989. She was retired from Eastern State Hospital, where she had worked as a nursing assistant. Lola was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Vinita. She enjoyed growing flowers, plants, gardening and working crossword puzzles. The family includes: her daughter Hope Reid and husband Mike of Clovis, New Mexico, her grandson, Chris Townsley and wife Lisa of Clovis; two sisters, Thelma Dear of Claremore and Margie McDougal of Vinita; three brothers, Bobby Gene, Homer Ray and Lonnie Heard; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding her in death, were her parents, husband, two sisters, Ruth Dugan and Kathryn Vaughn, three brothers, Harry Coleman Heard, Hubert Heard and Windy Heard, also one daughter, Lillian Denise Kuykendall in 1956. The graveside service will be held, Wednesday February 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the White Oak Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
