Benjamin Funeral Service ~ Nowata, OK...........................Memorial services for Louella Frances (Handy) Brannan, Wallace are 10:30 A.M, Friday, July 3, 2015 at the first United Methodist Church of Nowata with Dr. Allen Schneider and Pastor James Price officiating. Family will be receiving friends at Benjamin Funeral Service from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, July 2, 2015. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Louella "Frances" (Handy) Brannan, Wallace, 94, a resident of Nowata, passed away in Bartlesville On June 28, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born September 8, 1920 on Nowata to Ellsworth A. and Margret Mae (Clark) Handy. She was the youngest of the five "Handy" daughters. Frances received her education at Delaware and Nowata schools, a 1938 graduate of Nowata High School. She started working at Prim's Bakery in April 1938, and only worked for about six months and then she married Cecil "Buck" Brannan, on October 2, 1938 in Columbus, Kansas. They had two children, Robert "Bob" C. and Rebecca "Bekki" Jayne. Cecil preceded her in death on November 9, 1962. She was the secretary at T.H. Rogers Lumber for several years, then secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Nowata, where she was a long time member, a church bus driver, and a Treasurer of UMW. She married Thomas J. Wallace on June 7, 1971 and they resided on property west of Nowata. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1978. Frances loved to travel, to cook, and especially treasured her time with family. She enjoyed serving as a Docent at the Nowata County Historical Society Museum with Agnes Munson and her niece, Nita Wesson. Frances is survived by her son, Bob, and wife Wanda of Boulder, CO; a daughter, Bekki and husband James Loyd of Nowata; grandchildren, Elizabeth Bobette Brannan Plato, Phillip Davis and wife Sonia, Robert Davis and wife Shanda, Andrea Davis Scharosch; great grandchildren, Jimmy Davis, Justin Davis, Natalie Davis, Echo Davis, Wade Davis, Wyatt Davis, Abbey Davis, Ryan Scharosch, Emilea Faith Scharosch; step daughters, Martha (Wallace) Brown of Nowata, Barbara (Wallace) Webb of Coffeyville, Kansas, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Margret Handy; four sisters, Arletta Josephine Roberson, Ruby Hessong, Mildred Whitson, Laura Davis, and numerous other relatives. Memorials in Frances's name may be made to the Nowata County Historical Society Museum.
