Louis Griggs

Louis F. Griggs died Thursday October 12, 2006 after a long illness at the Grove Nursing Center. He was 73. Louis was born September 21, 1933 to Louie and Sytha (Colburn) Griggs at Delaware County, Ok. He married Betty Moore January 27, 1960 at Jay, Ok. Louis worked as a Police Officer many years ago for the City of Grove. He worked for the State of Oklahoma as a Park Ranger for 29 years at the Honey Creek State Park and Bernice State Parks. Louis also worked for the Grove Public School as a bus driver for 23 years. Survivors include his wife Betty Griggs of Grove. Two daughters: Betty Vanderpool and husband Jack of Grove, and Kim Griggs and Jon Cramer of Grove. Two grandchildren: Kevin Jackson and Tanya West of Grove, Tressa Sanchez and husband Nathan of Jay. Three great grandchildren: Cierra Jackson, Alexander Jackson and Jesse Sanchez. One brother: Marvin B. Griggs and wife Sondra of Miami, Ok. One sister: Ellen Burns and husband Earl of Walla Walla, Washington. Four nieces: Robin Glenn of Grove, Connie Bier of Oklahoma City, Bellann Griggs of Oklahoma City, and Linda Shockman of Oregan. Two nephews: Marvin T. Griggs of Oklahoma City, and Steve Griggs of Oklahoma City. One brother-n-law: Raymond Kirby of Salina, Ok. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lonnie Griggs and one sister, Edith Kirby. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday October 16, 2006 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Brother Brad Jinks will officiate. Interment will follow at the Howard Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
