Marilyn Lou (Hodges) Victory left the earthly world early on December 21, 2021. Marilyn was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on July 24, 1949, to Harlis Clarence Hodges and Juanita Pauline (Skinner) Hodges. She attended school in Alluwe, graduating with the class of 1967. Marilyn married the love of her life, Rex A. Victory, on December 23, 1968, at the First Church of God in Alluwe, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Alluwe and raised their children together there.

Marilyn was a member of the First Church of God in Alluwe, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker for many years, but also worked at the Nowata County Election Board. She enjoyed cooking and was known as an excellent cook.

Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, attending her grandchildren’s events, watching games shows on television, especially Wheel of Fortune and the Price is Right, and going to the casinos. What brought Marilyn the most joy, and what she considered was her greatest and most precious accomplishment in life, was being a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Harlis and Pauline Hodges; two siblings, Charles Hodges and Anna Marie Samaripa.

She is survived by her husband Rex Victory of the home; two children, Jeff Victory and wife Michelle of Alluwe, Oklahoma, Angela Hoy and husband Jimmy of Nowata, Oklahoma; one sister, Carolyn Shipman and husband Jim of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Ryan Victory of Alluwe, Oklahoma, Chance Victory of Alluwe, Oklahoma, Harlan Webb of Nowata, Oklahoma; special friend Terrye Moreland of Chelsea, Oklahoma and a host of many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation for Marilyn will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Service will be held at the Relocated Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma, 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, with her nephew, Kevin Fink officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Marilyn’s name can be sent to Nowata Music Booster Club, 700 W Osage Ave, Nowata, OK 74048.
