Mark Labarr

Mark Ryan LaBarr, 55 years old, of Nowata, OK passed away Wednesday, January 18th, 2012. He went home to the Lord's kingdom from Tulsa, OK after a nine month battle with colon cancer. We said goodbye to an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. Mark was the third son born to William Ronald LaBarr and Charlene Lois Ryan (Nowata, OK) on October 26,1956 in Nowata, OK. His brothers include James Alan LaBarr (Bartlesville, OK), Michael Conard LaBarr (twin) (Claremore, OK), and Timothy Brock LaBarr (Converse, TX). Mark was raised in Broken Arrow, OK until he returned to his parents' hometown of Nowata, OK in 1972. He graduated from Nowata High School in 1974 and proceeded to attend Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. While studying business he was a member in the Acacia Fraternity. On November 17, 1984 he was wed to Tonya Suzette Jordan of Durant, OK. In 1987 they moved to Independence, Kansas where he managed Westco Home Furnishings from that time until 2001. Mark and Tonya raised two children, Ashley Dawn LaBarr and Lori Danielle LaBarr. Mark was an active member of the Independence Country Club and Nowata Country Club where he pursued his love of golf. In 2003 he returned to his hometown of Nowata, OK and celebrating a new addition to his family, his grandson, Christian Ryan LaBarr. During the past five years he was employed by Brenntag Southwest in Nowata, OK. Mark enjoyed his Friday night card games with is old high school buddies, fishing with his twin brother and close friends, and was an avid golfer, even winning a tournament in November 2011. Survived by: Wife: Tonya S. LaBarr (Nowata, OK) Children: Ashley D. LaBarr (Nowata, OK) and Lori D. LaBarr (Nowata, OK) Grandson: Christian R. LaBarr (Nowata, OK) Siblings: James Alan LaBarr and wife Jeannine (Bartlesville, OK), Michael Conard LaBarr, and wife Sheri (Claremore, OK), and Timothy Brock LaBarr and wife Stacey (Converse, TX). Nephews and Nieces: A. Chase LaBarr (Las Vegas, NV), Julie M. Armstrong (Tulsa, OK), Erin N. Henderson (Oklahoma City, OK), and Hayden B. LaBarr (Converse, TX) Preceded in death by his Parents; William R. and Charlene L. LaBarr Sister In Laws: Diana Hindman LaBarr and Brenda Good LaBarr Nephew: Luke W. LaBarr Cousin: Mark Armstrong and Uncle's Bud Ryan and J.D. Maggard and Aunt Shirley Whitchurch Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00pm at The First Baptist Church, Nowata, OK 74048.
