Mary Drake

Mary Luvena Whittenburg Drake, 88, of Wann, Oklahoma passed away October 27, 2011 at her home. Luvena was born September 26, 1923 in Bartlesville to Joseph and Leta (Sullivan) Brown. Luvena married Percy Whittenburg on October 16, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa. After they were married they made their home east of Dewey. She was employed by Halliburton and also worked as a cook for a nursing home. She enjoyed going fishing and picking blackberries. She loved animals of all sort; she even had a pet goose, named Patty. Luvena was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Whittenburg; parents; sisters, Alice Brown and Louis Drake and brothers, Joe Brown, Archie Brown, Richard Brown and Bob Brown. She is survived by her children, Jerry Whittenburg and wife, Jan of Coffeyville, Kansas, Rosa Watts of Wann, Oklahoma, Barbara Stewart and husband, Dick of Wann, Oklahoma, Rita Moore and husband, Bill of Wann, Oklahoma and Dean Whittenburg of Wann, Oklahoma; sisters, Lillian Yates and husband, Carl of Wann, Oklahoma and Betty Haner Bowring; brothers, Jim Mason and wife of Dewey, Oklahoma and William Brown and wife, Marge of Coffeyville, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren
