Jay, OK - Mary Lou Dunaway, 76, died late Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at her home in Jay, Oklahoma. Mary Lou was born October 17, 1929 at Kenwood, Oklahoma to E.B. and Goldie Dykes. She was united in marriage to W.J. "Shorty" Dunaway on May 6, 1948. Together they owned and operated Dunaway's DX Service Station until 1977. Mary Lou later spent 15 years working at the Jay Veterinary Clinic until she retired. She spent her remaining years farming and enjoying her life with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Jean Gordon and Melinda Hughes, both of Jay; three sons, Jim Reno and wife, Linda, Tim Reno and wife, Toni of Jay and Don Reno and wife, Brenda of Haskell, Oklahoma; one sister, Helen Netherton of Stephenville, Texas; one sister-in-law, Nancy Dykes of Jay and one brother-in-law, W.P. "Slim" Dunaway and wife, Katie of Jay. One very special niece, Charlene Reno-Brown and husband, Richard of Thompson Station, Tennessee; three very special nephews, Mike Mills and wife, Sue of Grove, Oklahoma; Jack Robertson and wife, Pat of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Bill Reno and wife, Malinda of Ketchum, Oklahoma; two very dear and special long time friends, Martin L. and Irene Johnson of Eucha, Oklahoma. Eleven grandchildren, Bryan Gordon and wife, Christy, Wendy Cox, Jeremy Reno, Jyme Lynn Reno and Heath Johnston, J.C. Reno, Rachael Webb and husband, Kenzy, Kent Reno, Rebekah Reno, Dakota Brown, Justin Walters and wife, Crystal, Mary Ann Lay and husband, John. Eight great-grandchildren, Checotah Gordon, Mylynne Cox, Ryan Clay Reno, Cali Walters, Veyda Mae Walters, Nash Walters, Bryce Lay and McKenzi Lay. She is also survived by many other special nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Leona Reno; one brother, Leon Harold "Buddy" Dykes. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, August 4, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Jay with Randy Parks officiating and interment in the Eucha Cemetery, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.
