Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK....918-786-2261....Mary Virginia Nelson, passed away at her home in Grove, OK on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the age of 85. Virginia was born on June 26, 1929 in Carol County, VA, the daughter of the late Ireland Ross and Mary (Pickett) Ross. She left West Virginia at age 19 and moved to St. Louis, MO. While she was in St. Louis she was a secretary and did some modeling. She married Oakley Adair Bennett and to this union three children were born. Later she married Maurice Nelson in Denver, CO and to this union one daughter was born. The family moved around while Mr. Nelson served his country as a Master Sargent in the Air Force. Virginia enjoyed cooking and gardening. She enjoyed the outdoors but most of all she loved to be with family especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Michael Bennett, six brothers, and two sister. She is survived by four brothers: Wayne Ross of Virginia, Harold Ross of Florida, Frank Ross of California, and Ernie Ross of Virginia; two sons: Oakley Bennett and his wife Missy of North Carolina, and Charlie Bennett and his wife Teresa of Joplin, MO; one daughter Gini Beth Nelson and her companion Tom Moote of Gove, OK; five grandchildren: Lily Bennett, Olivia Bennett, John Bennett, Ashley Nelson, and Jonnie Simpson; four great grandchildren: Brier Nelson, Lainey Bailey, Erin Bennett, and Jordan Bennett; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK on Thursday, January 7, 2015 at 2PM with Rev. Jon Burnaman, presiding. Burial will follow at Olympus Cemetery, Grove, OK. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 6PM to 7PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
