Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Mary Opal Sutherlin passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Osage Nursing Center. She was born February 24, 1922 in Centralia, OK to Lula Bell (Green) and Leonard Parrett. She married Theo L. Sutherlin in Chelsea in 1940. He preceded her in death in May of 1994. She later married Clem Sutherlin in 1998 and he preceded her in death in September 2001. She lived in Nowata all of her life where she enjoyed working outside, working cattle, and raking hay. She loved the farming life and spending time with her family. Opal is survived by three children, Jerry Lee "Doc" Sutherlin and wife Janet of Nowata, Twila Gatton and husband Bill of Talala, Johnny Ray Sutherlin of Arkansas, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three brothers, and two sisters.
