Matthew Johnston

Matthew Mark Johnston, age 20, of Ketchum, OK, left this world on August 14th., 2009 to be with loved ones gone before him. Matthew was born August 18, 1988, in Pryor, OK to Mark Johnston and Joy Gilpin Pendergraft . He graduated from Ketchum High School, Ketchum, OK, in 2007. He continued his education at NEO A&M College in Miami, OK with a goal of becoming an electrical engineer. He was an all around athlete, but his greatest love was football. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He touched so many lives and brought so much happiness to the ones who knew him best. Matthew will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Matthew is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Joy Pendergraft of Jay, OK, Mark and Tonya Johnston of Miami, OK five brothers, Zackary and Nina Johnston of Jay, OK, Brycen and Mitchell Johnston of Miami, OK, Kyle Pendergraft of Oklahoma City, OK, Tate Black of Miami, OK, one sister, Jamie Pendergraft of Jay, OK, one nephew, Nickolas GJohnston of Jay, OK, Grand parents, Marvin and Barbara Johnston of Miami, OK, Ronald and Peggy Pendergraft of Jay, OK. He was preceded in death by his grand parents Dub and Joyce Gilpin. Funeral services will be Thursday August 20, 2009 in the Ketchum High School Gym at 2:00 P.M. with Brother Slade Story officiating and interment will follow in the Spavinaw Strang Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday August 19, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at honoringmemories.com.
