May Ellen Coop passed away May 05, 2020 in Parsons, Kansas. She was born December 14, 1931 in Bernice, OK the daughter of George Franklin and Laura Sybilla (Gerock) White. May was raised in White Oak, where she also attended school. In 1946 she married Samuel Wayne Davis on her 15th birthday, of that union five children were born Leona, George, Samuel, Susan and Debbie. She then married John Willis in 1961, of that union Michael John was born, in 1989 she married Bill Coop for the adventure of her lifetime. After retiring from TRW Cinch she and Bill enjoyed traveling to Laughlin, NV and taking road trips in their dune buggy, visiting every county in Oklahoma. She enjoyed gardening and took a lot of pride in her home. May was a member of Family Praise Center, lifetime member of the Women’s VFW Auxiliary, and for many years volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center in Vinita.
May was preceded in death by her three husbands; son, Samuel Lee Davis; brothers, Elmer and Charlie White and one sister, Suzanne Cates.
Survivors include daughters, Leona Chapman of Bixby, OK, Susan Wilkerson and husband Wayne of Chetopa, KS, Debra Diediker and husband John of Parsons, KS; sons, George Davis and wife Kendra of Charlotte, North Carolina, Michael John Willis and wife Laurie of Vinita, twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one brother, Perry White and wife Marcy of Bradford, Arkansas.
Viewing will be Friday, May 8, 2020 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm and Monday, May 11, from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Monday, May 11, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
