Metta Knight

Metta M. Knight, 89 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2019.

Metta was born on May 16, 1930 in Hutchinson, Kansas.  She was the loving daughter of Louis and Norva (Lynch) Commons.  She was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. Metta worked for the Keebler Company in Elmhurst, Illinois as a bookkeeper, and then retired from Farmland Industries where she was the payroll department manager.  Metta was a member of Grove’s First Baptist Church.

Metta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard E. Knight, and her brother Donald Commons.  She is survived by her two sons; Larry Darling and his wife Sally of Grove, Oklahoma and Martin J. Wade of Wichita, Kansas, her sister Vesta J. Walden of Mt. View, California, and sister in-law Pat Commons of Sturgeon, Wisconsin.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Grove Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel.  Services are scheduled for 10 AM, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Grove’s First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Paslay officiating.  Metta will be laid to rest in the Olympus Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
