Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Grove, OK (918) 786-2261 ---Michael Lee Halter 63 year old Grove, Oklahoma resident passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Grove. Michael was born on September 5, 1951 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Bill and Erma (Morris) Halter. He attended high school in Dewey, Oklahoma. After high school Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve D. Battery 30th Artillery and 4th Army in 1970. He was honorably discharged as a Military Spc. 4, in 1976. He married his wife, Maxine (Jackson), on Sept. 23, 1977, at Independent Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Michael was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed his job, helping the community in any way he could. Michael was a sergeant for the Delaware County Sheriff's Department, In addition to his law enforcement career, he served as the manager of Littlefield's Country Store on Monkey Island from 1998 to 2008. Halter and his wife also owned the Bunkhouse Cafe, located on north Highway 59, in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services for Michael will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Pastor Sam Smith will officiate. Casket bearers will be Mike Halter Jr., Shane Lasley, Doug Frazier, Aaron England, John Jackson, and Todd Stanley. Honorary casket bearers will be Lt. Murray Gross, Lt. Steve Brownell, Dep. Garrick Walker, Dep. Brad Bump, Dep. Corbey Christian, and Dep. Billy Frazier. Interment will follow at Zena Cemetery. The Tulsa Police Department Honor Guard and the Delaware County Sheriff's Department will render honors.
