Michael Mccarty

Michael Ray "Mike" McCarty, 47 year old Nowata resident died Monday, June 6, 2011. Mike was born May 13, 1964 in Frankfurt, Germany the son of Leonard Ray McCarty and Carol (Capps) McCarty. Mike was a graduate of Owasso High School. Mike married the love of his life Lisa Duncan. They made their home in rural Nowata, where Mike loved their little acreage. He enjoyed: farming, raising cattle, goats, riding horses and was especially known for his signature dismounts. Mike was a member of American Airlines' Transport Workers Union Local # 514 and was a devoted aircraft mechanic and employee for many years. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Carol. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa McCarty of the home; his father and step-mother, Leonard and Peggy McCarty; two sons: Anthony Ray McCarty and Shane Michael McCarty; one brother, one sister, one step-brother, one step-sister and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Services to honor Mike's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Benjamin Funeral Home Chapel in Nowata, OK.
